Wales is the country where angling dreams come true
Wales has thousands of exciting angling opportunities whether you're a game, coarse or saltwater angler.
If you are a game angler, then Wales has a wealth of rivers and lakes, or llyns as they are known in Wales and in a variety of stunning settings ranging from wild and lonely mountain locations to lush lowland venues. Then of course there are the rivers and streams that abound with wild brown trout, as well as grayling in some of them, which also account for more than half of the total number of sea trout caught throughout Wales and England.
Wales is also rapidly gaining a reputation for coarse fishing with opportunities to fish for a wide variety of species ranging from roach, rudd, perch and tench through to specimen pike, carp and barbel.
With a coastline that stretches from the mouth of the River Dee in the north to the Severn estuary in the south, Wales also has a fantastic and varied coastline that is home to a variety of species such as bass, mullet, pollock, wrasse, flatfish and even the occasional tope.
Whatever your angling interest may be, Wales is the place to visit. Nowhere in the UK are you likely to find so much variety of first-class angling opportunities packed into such a small country.
